The Lunar Drop Earrings are a part of our Ancient Future® collection. These striking earrings are hammered and feature the shape of a crescent moon with a series of round holes that embellish the edges. “Crescent” in Latin means to create, grow and thrive. The moon reflects the light as it glows softly against the dark sky. Ruling over water the crescent moon controls the flow of the tides and cycles of change.

Overview:
This crescent moon shaped silver earrings are embellished with a series of punched pellets around the outer edge and a similar triangle at the base of each end of the loop. This Viking motif remained popular for many centuries throughout Scandinavia. Máni is the personification of the moon in Norse mythology. Sources state that he is the brother of the personified sun, Sól, and the son of Mundilfari. Scholars have proposed theories about Máni's potential connection to the Northern European notion of the Man in the Moon, and a potentially otherwise unattested story regarding Máni through skaldic kennings.
