Inspiration: New York City Sparkling at Night

Origin:

Onyx can be found in Uruguay and bordering regions of Brazil, Afghanistan, India, Madagascar, Peru and the US. Baja California, and northwest Mexico. Rainbow Moonstone is composed of Orthoclase and Albite, two species from the Feldspar group. Labradorite, also a Feldspar, was first discovered in the late 1700's in Labrador, Canada. Since then, deposits have been noted in Finland, Russia, Australia, Mexico, United States and Madagascar. Obsidian is found anywhere that has experienced volcanic eruption with rapid cooling. It is believed that even primitive mankind may have used both snowflake obsidian and obsidian for jewelry, tools and weaponry. Lava stone is formed when molten rock erupts form an active volcano and comes in contact with the cool atmosphere of the Earth, which begins to solidify it.

Material:

Onyx is formed of bands of chalcedony in alternating colors. It is cryptocrystalline, consisting of fine intergrowths of the silica minerals quartz and moganite. Rainbow Moonstone and Labradorite are feldspars, which means that the crystalline structure refracts a large spectrum of colors from various layers within the material. Obsidian is formed when lava cools quickly. When lava cools more slowly, quartz crystals begin to form giving the rock a more textured, “snowflake” appearance. Lava Stone is naturally porous (filled with natural holes and bubbles), which means they are lightweight and a perfect stone for jewelry that is comfortable to wear.

Overview:

Onyx is a powerful protection stone that absorbs and transforms negative energy. Rainbow Moonstone connects us to Divine Inspiration, and channels it into our own intuition. It also enhances the wearer's creative abilities and freedom of expression. Labradorite is a stone of transformation and helps to assists when facing change and challenges, attracting strength and perseverance. It is said that according to Eskimo Indian legend, the northern lights were freed from Labradorite. Snowflake obsidian helps one foster personal insights, overcome negative feelings and accept guidance that may be available. Lava stone gives us strength and courage, allowing us stability through times of change.
