A drop earring made of a gold hook with discoid finials, a cell with a beaded wire fillet and an inset garnet cabochon. Attached to a gold chain is a biconical clear glass pendant.
In Ancient Rome, the Forum was the city’s central square where citizens would gather to practice their daily political and religious activities. The use of gold is a testimony of the opulence of jewelry found in Rome in the early centuries of the 1st millennium AD.
